Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the subject method and device wherein a tube to be inserted in a tube hole is pulled by the actions of an elastic member and a stopper provided at the proximal end of a tube expanding medium, and the insertion length is set by a sleeve inserted in the tube hole thereby to correctly locate the pipe so as to expand the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An insertion length setting sleeve 10 is arranged in the tube hole of a tubular plate 1, and a tube in which a known tube expanding device, an axial direction shifting device and a tensile strength generator 12 are inserted is arranged at a predetermined position. Then, a piston (not shown) is actuated to shift a pressure rod 6 in the axial direction by a small force F1. As a result, the elastic member 14 of the tensile strength generator 12 is compressed in the axial direction until stoppers 15 and 16 come into contact therewith, and by the accompanying expansion in the radial direction, comes into contact with the tube inner surface to generate a tensile strength f. Then, the rod 6 is moved by a force F2 to actuate an axial shifting device 11, and a tube 2 is in contact with the sleeve 10 and located. Furthermore, the rod 6 is shifted by a force F3, and the tube expanding device is actuated to expand and fix the tube 2.
