Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently expand the pipe, without causing the pollution with the hydraulic medium, etc., by inserting the flexible tube into the pipe to be expanded, and by impressing the hydraulic pressure on the inside of the flexible tube.
CONSTITUTION: The flexible tube 2 like as the rubber tube being closed at one end is inserted into the pipe 1 to be expanded. The rod 6 longer than the flexible tube 2 is inserted into the tube 2, and both ends of the tube 2 are closed by tightly fixing to the rod 6; hereby, the tube 2 is restrained by the rod 6. The pressure unit 3 is communicated to inside of the tube 2 through the pathway bored in the rod 6, and the hydraulic pressure is applied to the tube 2 which is then expanded. By this expansion pressure, the pipe 1 is expanded from inside. The rod 6 restrains the longitudinal stretch of the tube 2 due to the hydraulic pressure given to the tube 2, so that the tube 2 efficiently expands radially, and expands the pipe 1 to the fully satisfactory condition.
