Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a jig which makes it possible to expand a large size heat exchanging tube and to fix the tube to fins at a low cost, by constituting the jig in such a manner that special chucks are attached to a hollow expanding jig, which can be inserted and fitted to the end of a tube to be expanded, by a hydraulic pressure, and that the jig body is fixed to the tube with said chucks.
CONSTITUTION: In a jig described in the title which can expand heat exchanging tubes by pressing a liquid into the tubes so as to fix the tubes to fins, a screw 12 and steps 14, 15 are formed on the hollow jig body 1 which can be inserted and fixed to the end of a tube (a), and the jig is supported by threading the screw 23 built in the base of a chuck body 2 having plural chucks 22 with the screw 12, and the pressure nipping portion 24 at the top end of the chuck body 2 is connected to the small diameter step 15 of the tube (a) by pressure sliding a sleeve 3 by pressing tool 4 the sleeve 3 which fits to the oblique outer surface 26 of the chuck, hereby the jig is fixed to the tube (a). Tubes are expanded by pressing high pressure fluid through said jig 1 into the tubes (a). This jig is suitable for expanding large size heat exchanging tube which is manufactured in short production run and which mechanical expanding method is hardly applied to.
