Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the metallic powder, and to fix the tube to the tube plate at a low cost, by inserting the piece of the specified outer diameter into the part, to be fixed to the tube plate, of the tube provided with fins at its inner surface, and by inserting the expanding jig into this piece for carrying out the tube expanding work to fix the tube to the tube plate.
CONSTITUTION: The tube 4, provided with many protruding fins 4a at the inner surface, is inserted into the tube hole 2a of the tube plate 2 fixed to the shell; the cylindrical piece 10, possessing outer diameter smaller than the diameter of the circular arc obtained by connecting the inside apexes of the fins 4a, is inserted into the fixing part of the tube 4 to be fixed to the tube plate 2; the expanding jig, comprising the mandrel M, the frame F for backing up the plural rollers R, etc., is inserted into the piece 10; then, the tube 4 and the piece 10 are expanded together in order to fix the piece 10 to the tube 4 and to fix the tube 4 to the tube plate 2 of the titled heat exchanger at the same time. Hereupon, the insertion length limiter 11 is installed at the tail end of the piece 10 in order to limit the insertion length. Hereby, the trouble caused by generation of the metallic powder during the expanding work can be prevented.
