Abstract
PURPOSE: To keep the degree of vacuum around the sludge, and to improve the capacity of dehydration and drying, by arranging the impermeable sheet to cover the outer face of the sludge adsorbed onto the filter surface of the vacuum dehydration drum of the vacuum filter for use of slidge dehydration, and to turn round together with the drum.
CONSTITUTION: An the vacuum filter for sludge dehydration, consisting of the vacuum dehydration drum 1, the filter cloth 2, the sludge tank 3, the washing tank 5, etc., the impermeable endless film or sheet 7 made of rubber, etc., is arranged so as to tightly contact with the drum 1, for covering the outer face of the sludge adsorbed onto the outer face of the filter cloth 2. This film or sheet 7 is sucked onto the outer face of the drum 1 due to its inner vacuum, and follows to the rotation of the drum 1 turning in the course settled by guide rolls 8, 9, 10. Hereby, the reduction of degree of vacuum due to cracks in the cake generated while the drying process for the sludge adsorbed on to the filter face of the drum, is prevented, so that the capacity of filtration is improved and the cake with low water content can be obtained.
