Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the cell usable in a wide temperature range, with a selfdischarge decreased at high temperature, by means of adding a specifice amount of cadmium hydroxide and cobalt hydroxide to the anode plate of nickel-cadmium cell with an electrolyte used of specific composition. CONSTITUTION:To the anode active material of a cell, in a constitution with nickel hydroxide used for the anode, cadmium hydroxide for the cathode and with sodium hydroxide-potassium hydroxide-lithium hydroxide and water system mixing alkaline used for the electrolyte, are added cadmium hydroxide of 5 to 20% by weight and cobalt hydroxide 5 to 10% by weight to construct the anode. It is suitable for the above described electrolyte to provide a composition of sodium hydroxide of 3 to 2mol, potassium hydroxide of 2 to 3mol and lithium hydroxide more than 1mol.
