Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform stable denitrification and also to make unreacted NH3 zero in spite of variable NOx concentration by providing a denitrification reactor having catalyst, adsorbent, etc., to absorb and desorb NH3 and by controlling the amount of NH3 in such a way that the indwelling substances can hold NH3 amount corresponding to the maximum adsorbed amount all the time.
CONSTITUTION: The NOx-containing waste gas from the waste gas source 1 is first heat-exchanged by the heating furnace 5 to rise its temperature, then added NH3 from the line 8, and then introduced into the denitrification reactor 11 with NH3-adsorbing and desorbing function (e.g., catalyst) for denitrification. The denitrified waste gas is heat-exchanged and then released from the stack to the outside. On the other hand, the signal 19 of the waste gas analyzer 16 is put in the NH3 controller 17 and the electromagnetic valve 9 is controlled by the signal 20 of the controller 17 in such a way that the amount of NH3 supplied is kept all the time so as to keep the amount corresponding to the maximum NH3 adsorption capability value or less of the reactor 11; that is, the instantaneous value of NH3 supplied at one time is more than the instantaneous NOx maximum value equivalent in waste gas, or the supplying time is set up to the possible maximum adsorption amount of NH3 of the reactor.
