Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce NOx content in waste gas generated through combustion of solid waste by introducing gas cntaining ammonia, which is generated by the fermentation of a part of the waste, into an incinerator in which, on the other hand, waste gas generated by the incineration of the remaining part of the waste is mixed.
CONSTITUTION: Waste such as sewer sludge or the like is divided into two parts, and one of the parts is delivered into a treating device 1 for aerobic and thermophilic fermentation, after it is subjected to a mesophilic fermentation; fermentation gas containing CO2 and NH3 is generated as said waste having undergone thermophilic fermentation. In this case, air is supplied into the device 1 to accelerate acerobic biological reaction in the fermentation. On the other hand, the other part of the waste is delivered into an incinerator 2 for waste and is incinearated, and , at the same time, said fermentation gas is introduced into the incinerator 2. Though thermal NOx and fuel NOx are generating due to the incineration of the waste, these NOx are reduced with NH3 containing on the fermentation gas, thereby, the waste gas is denitrated.
