Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus by which ocean organisms adhering to a condenser and pipes will be destroyed and removed without contaminating sea water, wherein sea water will be confined in the condenser using its inlet and outlet valves, and the temperature of the sea water is then increased.
CONSTITUTION: To destroy ocean organisms adhering within a condenser 3, an inlet valve and an outlet valve of the condenser 3 are closed, circulating pump inlet and outlet valves 7e, 7d of a circulating water pump 8 are opened, a condenser sea water circulating pump 9 is operated to circulated sea water, while steam from an auxiliary steam header 16 is led through a steam pipe 15 to a spray nozzle 14 which is located in the condenser to be jetted thereinto, and thus the sea water within heat exchange tubes 5 will be heated.
