Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a light semiconductor device and eliminate the deterioration of light coupling therein by irradiaging light directly on the light receiving surface while totally reflecting the boundary between the core and cladding glass in glass fiber. CONSTITUTION:Light introduced from the incident end of a glass fiber 30 is propagated while totally reflecting in the boundary of the core and the cladding glass in the fiber, and is irradiated directly to the light receiving surface of the light thyristor element 10 from the projecting surface. The glass fiber 30 is airtightly soldered with metallic bellows 27 and sleeve 38 having approximate thermal expansion coefficient, and airtightly soldered with bellow 27 and cathode steel block 21. Further, the glass fiber 30 is brought into contact with the light receiving surface of the light thyristor element under predetermined pressure by utilizing the spring action of the bellows 27.
