Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the start of a fluidized bed furnace easy, by installing one or more spray guns adjacently to the starting burner of the fluidized bed furnace in such a manner that the spray gun can be put into, or taken out of, the furnace freely, and that the spraying direction can be changed freely, and by spraying fuel which is ignited easily. CONSTITUTION:The flame 11 of a starting burner 9 is blown against a fluidized bed 6 having been fluidized by an air blast which flows in from the lower part of the bed through an air inlet 3, a wind box 4, and a perforated plate 5. In such a situation, easily ignitable fuel such as kerosene is sprayed from a spray gun 13, then the fuel is ignited by the flame 11, thereby spreading flame region in the furnace. The spraying position or spraying direction of the flame is changed by moving to and fro, or by rotating, the spray gun 13 so as to spray the flame against all over the fluidized bed 6. When the fuel contained in the fluidized bed 6 is ignited and is burned autogeneously, supply of fuel and air to the burner 13 is stopped and the burner gun 13 is drawn off from the furnace.
