Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a combustion device for liquid fuel which makes possible to start combustion quickly and extinguish fire instantaneously by providing a burner inner cylinder of a downwardly divergent shape which is arranged vertically.
CONSTITUTION: If the inside of a combustion chamber 8 is purged by a blower 12, an ignition device 14 is actuated and fuel is injected from an atomizing nozzle 10 via a fuel feed pump 11, fine fuel particles carried by primary air blow out from flame holes 6 and are ignited by consecutive spark discharges caused by the ignition device 14. A part of sprayed fuel stays on the concave parts of an end plate 7, but as they are heated by combustion heat, they become to serve as an effective vaporizing surface. Therefore the fuel sprayed onto the concave parts is vaporized immediately and forms gas premixture with primary air. If the apparatus is so arranged that combustion for the maximum rated combustion quantity may be completed with primary air and secondary air, a flame moves to the upstream side as fuel is throttled and a flame is formed at a position where air supply satisfys the set quantity of combustion.
