Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out the partial-load operation of the steam turbine efficiently, by introducing steam controlled by a plurality of steam control valves separately into steam chambers divided into the same number of sections as the steam control valves, and effecting partial injection of steam from separate nozzle groups communicated to respective steam chambers.
CONSTITUTION: A body 60 of the first-stage high-pressure nozzle diaphragm is divided circumferentially into four steam chambers 74W77 by four partition plates 68W71, and the steam controlled by the four steam control valves is introduced into the four steam chambers via separate conduits. At opposite axial end portions of the body 60, there are provided a plurality of the first-stage high-pressure nozzles which are classified into nozzle groups 78W81, 82W85 communicated respectively to the separate steam chambers 74W77. Therefore, if a steam control valve or valves selected are opened and the steam is ejected through a steam chamber or chambers and a nozzle groups or group communicated to said selected steam control valve or valves, partial-load operation of the steam turbine can be carried out efficiently by reducing the steam-flow restricting loss at the outlet of steam control valves.
