CONSTITUTION:The positive electrode 1 is prepared by molding by compression a 90:8:2 mixture of Ag2O, MnO2, and flaky graphite to obtain a molding of a porosity of 15%, and then by closely filling the molding in the metal can 2 serving as a positive terminal. Then, the positive electrode 1 filled in the can 2 is heated by a high-frequency induction heating for a given period of time to form a metallic silver layer on the portion in contact with the positive can. Thus, uniform silver layer can be simply and exactly formed on the surface of the positive electrode mixture composed primarily of Ag2O or AgO.
