Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize engine idling, by fitting a check valve to one of two holes made on the upstream end of an auxiliary fuel passage, the hole being positioned downstream or upstream of a throttle valve depending on the valve's "close" or "open" position, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: While an engine is idling, a throttle valve 76 is inclined by about 3W4°. from its "close" position, its downstream rim 76 being positioned between two holes 72, 74 opening in a main suction passage 44 of an auxiliary passage connected with a combustion chamber or an inlet valve. Since the second hole 74 is closed by a check valve containing a ball 78 which is controlled by a spring 80 and the negative suction pressure of the main suction passage 44, air entering the auxiliary passage through the first hole 72, which is open to the fresh air, increases auxiliary inlet air without returning from the second hole 74 to the suction passage 44 and produces the effect of suction jet during the engine idling.
