Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution of the device by adopting a constitution wherein the fuel supplied from a low-speed fuel injection port with an air bleed provided in the carburetor is increased at the time of cold starting and thereby unnecessitating a conventional fuel injection port for starting provided separately.
CONSTITUTION: At the time when an engine is in a cold state, a bimetal 22 is curved upward to draw up a valve body 17 and thereby an air passage 14 for starting is fully opened. When cranking is conducted under the condition, the intake negative pressure in the downstream of a throttle valve 3 acts on a slow air passage 11 and thereby the flow of air flowing into a fuel passage 10 through a pilot air screw 13 is decreased. Therefore, the air mixed in the fuel from the air bleed, i.e. the low-speed fuel injection port 6 is decreased and thereby the fuel injected into an intake passage 2 is increased. After starting of the engine, the intake negative pressure rises sharply and acts on the valve body 17 and the front of a guide tube 18, whereby the valve body 17 is lowered against a spring 24 and thus the opening degree of a starting valve 15 is decreased.
