Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a knocking action of an engine at its state of high load, by providing a compression pressure response valve for an exhaust turbo-charger in a bypass line for cooling water that circulates from a water jacket to a radiator. CONSTITUTION:In a main path 24 of a cooling water path 20 for circulation from a water jacket 1 to a radiator 19, a thermally sensing response valve 26 opened at a high temperature of about 80 deg.C is provided. A pipe 52 for transmitting the intake compression pressure of an exhaust turbocharger applies the atmospheric pressure or intake pressure to a pressurizing chamber 39 of a diaphragm device 36 through a temperature sensing selector valve 43 that opens when a cooling water temperature exceeds about 50-60 deg.C, causing the intake pressure, which is raised when an engine is operated in a state of high load, to lift a valve unit 35 and feed a large amount of cooling water to the radiator 19 from a valve port 34. Accordingly, the cooling water temperture can be kept at about 50-60 deg.C to lower the temperature of intake air into engine cylinders, prevent a knocking action and improve a charging efficiency.
