Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the durability, accuracy and the like of the subject head, in manufacturing an ink jet head in an ink ondemand system, by subjecting the junction parts of a plurality of glass base plates to surface treatment and bonding them together by deposition. CONSTITUTION:An ink flowpath 3 is formed on a glass base plate 1 by a photoetching method, and further a metal film 4 is formed on a juction surface 10 using a metal such as lead or the like causing the melting point of glass by a photoetching method or the like. Then, the glass base plate 1 is placed in a furnace, and the metal of th metal film 4 is dispersed in the glass base plate 1 thereby to produce a low-melting point glass layer 20. A similar treatment is applied to the other glass base plate 2 to produce another low-melting point glass layer 20. Both junction surfaces 10 of glass base plates 1 and 2 are put togehter and pressed under a suitable pressure, and placed in a furnace of a temperature at which only a low-melting point glass layer is molten and deposited. Then, to the thus bonded glass base plates 1 and 2 there are bonded piezoelectric elements to produce an ink receiving parts, this completing the ink jet head.
