Abstract

PURPOSE: To purify the polluted air certainly and efficiently in low cost by discharging polluted air into an activated sludge aeration bath blended with activated carbon.
CONSTITUTION: A particulate or powdery activated carbon 3 is blended into a bath tank filled with an activated sludge bath 5. If polluted air from a generating source is introduced into this tank, the said air is floated within the bath in fine bubbles. In this case, the polluted air is adsorbed on a wide adsorbing surface of the activated carbon 3 and, in this condition, org. substances within the polluted air is subjected to the oxidative decomposition by bacteria to be purified. Thereby, the polluted air generated in a large amount can be purified certainly and efficiently.
