Abstract

Sewage is supplied by a duct to a tank and has a rotary motion imparted to it by blades or other means. The blades may act as an aerating device or air or other chemical agents may be added in any suitable way. Deflectors direct the flow of sewage so that with suitable control of entry flow and the rotary blades the build-up of a suitable active sludge floc may be achieved at the centre. Sludge can be recycled by a pump in the duct.
