Abstract

PURPOSE:To prolong charge-discharge cycle life by arranging a thin layer which is conductive and made of alkaliproof synthetic resin fiber on the surface of nonformalized plate as paste type cadmium negative plate. CONSTITUTION:A nonformalized negative electrode plate is formed by coating paste type mixed agent 1 consisting of cadmium oxide onto a core material 2, and on the surface of the negative plate, a thin layer 3 which is electric-conductive and made of alkaliproof synthetic resin fiber F is placed, and pressed with the nonformalized plate by a roller press, and thus a negative plate is obtained. The thin layer 3 made of synthetic resin fiber F is formed from a thin sheet made of polypropylene fiber which is applied with nickel plating and is not cut as single fiber. Therefore, the development of cadmium crystal M is suppressed due to the entanglement of fiber F, and the alteration of structure of the negative plate surface layer is reduced, and the charge-discharge cycle life can be prolonged.
