Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the high-rate discharge performance and the life of a nickel plate by providing an active material sheet on a surface of a woven or non-woven fabric made of fiber, with the periphery of the fabric uncoated, pressing the folded fabric coated with the active material sheet on which a current collecting body is held, and attaching the folded periphery of the fabric to one another so that the sheet is wrapped in the fabric. CONSTITUTION:A paste 2 prepared by kneading an active material or the like is applied or pressed upon a surface of a woven or non-woven fabric 1 made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as nylon or polypropylene. Here, a periphery 3 of the fabric 1 is left uncoated with the paste 2. Next, a current collecting body 4 having a terminal 5 is placed on a center line (a), and the fabric 1 coated with a paste layer 2' is folded into halves in the direction indicated by the arrows. Following that, the folded body is pressed with a roll press or the like, and the periphery 3 folded into halves are attached to one another with an adhesive, a solvent welding agent or the like for making the paste 2 to be wrapped in the fabric 1, thus a nickel plate is obtained.
