Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit the operation of a garbage furnace to be ready and to improve the combustion efficiency by installing level sensors to the upper end of the stokers in order to detect a garbage layer thickness and to regulate the ratio of the upstream stoker speed to the combustion stoker speed. CONSTITUTION:The speed of a combustion stoker 4 is controlled by a speed controller 7. In order to control the speed of a feeder 2, drying stoker 3, and rear combustion stoker 5 so as to be almost proportional to that of the combustion stoker 4, cascade ratio-setting devices 8 and 8 are installed between the speed controller 7 and driving gears 6, 6 of the feeder 2 and the drying stoker 3, and a ratio-setting device 9 is installed between the speed controller 7 and a driving gear 6 of the rear combustion stoker 5. Level sensors 10 are installed to the upper end of the drying stoker 3 and combustion stoker 4 in order to detect the garbage layer thickness. The state of the garbage layer is discriminated by garbage layer state- change discrimination circuits 11, and an optimum speed ratio is set by the ratio- setting devices 8. Thus, the garbage layer thickness is made constant, so that the combustion efficiency can be improved.
