PURPOSE:To control combustion automatically and effectively in accordance with variation of quality of refuse by a method wherein the variation of the quality of the refuse is regarded as a variation of a combustion gas temperature in a furnace. CONSTITUTION:A combustion gas temperature To in a furnace is detected by a temperature detector 14 provided at a vicinity of a gas outlet port at a top portion in the furnace and respective setting values are operated in an operating device 15 and are indicated. A forced air temperature T1 is detected by a temperature detector 16 and a gas flow damper 10 is operated through a temperature indicating controller TIC, connected to the operating device 15, to control the forced air temperature at a set temperature. A forced air volume L is detected by an air volume detector 17 and a damper 18 as well as dampers 11, 12, 13 are operated through a flow indicating controller FIC, connected to the operating device 15, to control the forced air volume at a set value. Speeds S of feedings of a refuse delivering pusher 3 and stokers 4, 5, 6 are controlled by setting stroke cycles of hydraulic cylinders 19, 20, 21, 22 into speed indicating controllers SIC connected to the respective hydraulic cylinders.
