Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture an insulated coil of high reliability in a short time, by winding an insulating tape of small width around a coil conductor, then winding an insulating tape of large width, impregnating a thermosetting resin under pressure due to vacuum and hardening the resin. CONSTITUTION:A mica tape 4 of small width is wound by about 1/5-1/2 of total required turns around a coil conductor 2 so that the half longitudinal parts of the tape are overlapped with each other. A mica tape of large width is wound by the reset of the total required turns around the former mica tape so that the half longitudinal parts of the latter tape are also overlapped with each other. Epoxy resin or the like is then impregnated under vacuum and pressurized by N2 or the like. After that, the coil is picked out and the resin is hardened at a prescribed temperature. According to this method, the resin impregnation time can be greatly reduced even if the number of the turns of the insulating tapes is large, and the insulated coil is provided with a long electric lifetime approximate to that of an insulated coil employing only an insulating tape of large width. The smaller the tape width is, the easier the impregnation is, while the larger the tape width is, the longer the electric lifetime is. If discharge progress time is to be lengthened, an insulating tape of large width is to be wound as an outer layer.
