Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect stable water treatment by reducing the phenomenon called reverse mixing which involves a flow of mixed liquid downstream side to the upstream side through rectifying walls in an aeration tank.
CONSTITUTION: The degree of opening ratio made on rectifying plates 14aW14d arranged in flow direction of mixed liquid in an aeration tank 1 is made sucessively larger toward downstream. This reduces the amount of reverse mixing in the area where organic substance concentration is high. If much reverse mixing occurs upstream, this causes sewage underwent insufficient aeration treatment to be flowed down by the action of reverse mixing and results in insufficient stay time. If reverse mixing occurs downstream, this practically causes no trouble because some degree of treatment has beem already conducted.
