Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove BOD components and nitrogen from sewage of filth in a single vessel, by intermittently blowing air into a mixed liquid in a vessel with a vertical- shaft aerator, and continuing only the circulating current of the mixed liquid in the vessel when aeration is not done.
CONSTITUTION: When sewage or filth is disposed in a loop-type sewage or filth- disposal vessel provided with a vertical-shaft aerator, air-blow into a mixed liquid in the vessel with the vertical-shaft aerator is done intermittently. When the aeration is not done, only the circulating current of the mixed liquid in the vessel is continued to treat the sewage or filth. A step of oxidation by the standard output of the vertical-shaft aerator and that of giving a flow only by the vertical-shaft aerator constitute one cycle. To treat sewage or domestic filth 20W40 cycles are considered as a standard disposal enough to obtain a sufficient effect. Thus, BOD components and nitrogen can be removed in a single vessel, and the generation of filamentous bulking or the like can be inhibited.
