Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the collapse at the bent part of a heat exchanging pipe for reducing the resistance of a cooling medium and improving the thermal efficiency by forming a heat exchanging pipe with pin-shaped fins into an oval spiral, and shaping the pipe by exerting an inward pressure perpendicularly to the long diameter of the oval.
CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanging pipe 1 is formed into an oval spiral as shown in (A) and (B). One side of the spirally wound pipe parallel to its long diameter is transformed except bent parts 3 by exerting an inward pressure perpendicularly to the long diameter, as shown by the arrow in (C), and fitted in a close part 4 provided between the other sides which are parallel to the long diameter but not transformed, so that substantially one turn can be added, and the plane of the pipe is shaped into a near square. Shaping the heat exchanging pipe in this manner permits the collapse at the bent part to be eliminated.
