Abstract

PURPOSE: The cultivation of a mutant that belongs to Corynebacterium and has high ability of producing 5'-inosinic acid produces 5'-inosinic acid efficiently.
CONSTITUTION: A microorganism is subjected to a known mutation treatment to give a microorganism that requires adenine, resists decoinine and sulfa drugs and produces 5'-inosinic acid, e.g., Corynebacterium equi AJ 11347 (FERM-4968) derived from AJ 1723 or Corynebacterium SB. AJ 11352 (FERM-4973) derived from AJ 1562. The resulting mutant is cultured and 5'-inosinic acid accumulating in the culture medium is collected.
