Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to record information easily even on a recording medium of high coercive force by decreasing the internal winding diameter of the exciting winding of an auxiliary magnetic pole from the innermost to the tip while increasing the number of turns to the tip. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of magnetic core 211 forming auxiliary magnetic pole 21 of a vertical magnetization type magnetic head is tapered off in the running direction (arrow) of a magnetic recording medium and the number of turns of exciting winding 212 is increased to the tip of core 211. Thus, the magneto-motive force of auxiliary magnetic pole 21 is increased toward the tip to concentrate magnetic flux, so that recording even on a recording medium of high coercive force will come into effect easily. In stead of tapering the auxiliary magnetic pole core, reinforced holder 313, etc., of glass, etc., is provided for displaying the same effect even with the structure of auxiliary magnetic pole 31 with the tapered tip of holder 313.
