Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a directly recorded picture having high resolution easily and without accompanying a noise, by elevating a magnetic fluid by capilarity, and letting a signal electric current flow through a coil to protrude the elevated magnetic fluid and to allow it to adhere to a recording body.
CONSTITUTION: When the signal electric current is passed through the coils 4 of recording heads A-1, C-1, one end 5 of each magnetic core 3 becomes an N pole and the other end 7 becomes an S pole. Due to this magnetic field the magnetic fluid 6 is raised at the other end 7 to form a projection 11 the part of which will adhere to the recording sheet 10 to record a dotted picture. In the recording head B-1 whose coil 4 has not been supplied with a signal electric current, there is no magnetic field, and on its other end there is a flat remaining part of the magnetic fluid 6 the main part of which has been the previous projection 11 and used for recording, so that the remaining part cannot adhere to the recording sheet 10. Accordingly, the dot diameter of the dotted directly recorded picture formed on the recording sheet 10 will be less than the diameter of the recording head 1, so that the resolution will be improved.
