Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable control of the output of a semiconductor laser device in high accuracy and to prevent occurrence of ghost image thereof by obliquely installing a photodetector for measuring the output power of an irradiated beam with respect to the beam irradiating surface of a semiconductor laser element. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser element 13 is provided at the upper end of the vertical plane 12 of a mount 11, and a photodetector 24 is so provided at the lower oblique surface 23 as to receive the back beam 16 in the state having an oblique angle gamma with respect to the beam irradiating plane. The output of the photodetector is fed back to the drive circuit 22 for driving the element 13 through an electrode 17 to control the outputs of both the front and the back thereof becoming constant value. In this manner, the peak beam of the back beam is lowered in the light receiving surface illuminance by singamma so that the output sensitivity of the photodetector may not fall in the nonlinear range so as to highly accurately detect the quantity of light. Since the back beam is not mixed with the front beam, no ghost is taken place.
