Abstract

PURPOSE: The starch pulp from sweet or white potato is dewatered with a dewaterer to a specific water content, dried and sieved, thus producing readily said powdery food storable for a long time.
CONSTITUTION: The starch pulp which is obtained in the production of starch from sweet or white potato is dewatered with a dewaterer such as screw decanter or rotary vacuum automatic dewaterer to 70W90% water content. The resulting pulp is milled with a roll mill into thin films or not milled, then dried to perferably less than 10% water content. The product is crushed and sieved to given said powdery food mainly containing fibers.
