Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve drivability by controlling fine-textured ignition timing in such a way that at the same time as the ignition timing of ignition plugs is controlled by engine rotation and negative pressure in the air intake system, selective controls are made on the other condition. CONSTITUTION:A contact breaker 7 is opened and closed by a cam 3, high voltage is induced on the secondary side of an ignition coil 14 to ignite ignition plugs by interrupting and conducting the primary current of the ignition coil 14. Drive of the engine actuates a centrifugal progressive angular mechanism 4 and a negative pressure progressive angular mechanism 5, to control the contact breaker 7. When engine temperature and mixing concentration are low, output signals from a temperture detector 16, a mixing ratio detector 17 are given to a drive circuit 15, the contact breaker 8 is connected to the primary side of the ignition coil 14 with use of this drive circuit 15, ignition signals different from the one of the contact breaker 7 are given to the primary side of the ignition coil 14.
