Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption in the back up power supply, by splitting the power supply line and supplying required current for memory storage at mains failure.
CONSTITUTION: Power is supplied to each part of the memory unit from the DC main power supply 11 with the supply buses 1 and 2. When the main power supply 11 is interrupted and the switches 4 and 3 are opened and closed respectively, the bus 2 only is connected to the back up power supply battery 12 to supply only to the memory cell 5 and the refresh control section 8 connected to the bus 2 and required for memory storage, allowing to reduce the power consumption of the battery 12 and to restart the normal operation of the memory unit without any hindrance at the restoration of the power supply 11.
