Abstract

PURPOSE: To operate the circuit with minimum power consumption at all times, by changing the circuit constant automatically depending on the operating condition of the circuit.
CONSTITUTION: The oscillation inverters 4 to 6 are connected in parallel and power supply is fed via the PMOS gates 1 to 3 different in ON voltage. When the power supply voltage is lowered at the start of oscillation, the oscillation output A is small and the oscillation voltage fed to the PMOS gate is small, thus the PMOS gates 1 to 3 are all ON. The oscillation inverters 4 to 6 are simultaneously operated and the oscillation output is increased after that. The number of the PMOS gates turned on is sequentially reduced and the number of the operating inverters is sequencitally decreased. If the oscillation output is deficienct, the output can be increased by a plurality of inverters in parallel operation, but the consumed power is greater. Accordingly, as the output is greater, the number of inverters in operation is reduced to decrease the power consumption.
