Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent decrease of output and increase of fuel cost by performing a cooling of air drawn by a supercharger.
CONSTITUTION: Connecting an exhaust manifold 19 to an exhaust port 17, and connecting an exhaust manifold 19 to a turbocharger 21 so as to drive a driving impeller 23a and by means of an impeller 23b connected to the driving impeller and thereby moved, supercharging air drawn from an airflow meter 25, it is supplied to a surge tank 39. In the surge tank 39, an evaporator 41 is arranged branched from a cooling system in a wheel chamber, being connected to an intake manifold 13, and in front of an opening of the air intake manifold, a totally net formed flame arrester 43 id provided to prevent a damage of the evaporator 41 in case of a back- fire. The cooling system is so arranged as to receive a refregerant introduced from a compressor 51 by a receiver 55, expanding it by an expansion valve 57, and is sent to two evaporators, 41, 59 for cooling the chamber.
