Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove an electrolyte from a solid containing the electrolyte for a short time and effectively by extremely simple operation by a method wherein an ion exchange resin absorbing the ions of the electrolyte is made coexist in a washing liquid when washing the solid.
CONSTITUTION: Water is again added to an aluminum silicate slurry liquid obtained by a reaction, etc. between sodium silicate and aluminum sulfate to which caustic soda is added, a gauze in SUS containing the Amberite IR-120AG of an ion exchange resin is charged, and the liquid is agitated. The liquid is filtered and washed by water, water is again added, the said gauze to which an ion exchange resin Dowex MSA-1 is admitted is charged, and the liquid is stirred. The liquid is filtered, washed by water and dried, and aluminum silicate is obtained. There exists no sodium ion of caustic soda secondarily produced in case of the formation of the slurry liquid in the aluminum silicate. The kinds and shapes of the ion exchange resin used can properly be selected, one kind or two kinds or more may be combined, and it is preferable that ion exchange capacity is larger than the quantity of the ions of an electrolyte to be adsorbed in the quantity of the resin used.
