Abstract

PURPOSE: To wash resins simply and effectively without the needs to transfer resins to a regenerating tower by a back-washing method in which sluicing water and air are supplied into the bottom of a condensed water desalting tower so as to back- wash an ion exchange resin.
CONSTITUTION: In the back-washing of the ion exchange resin 2 in the condensed water desalting tower 1, water and air from the stirring air line 3 and the sluicing water line 4 are supplied concurrently and continuously into the bottom of the tower 1, where the resin 2 is washed while being stirred. The washing waste water is discharged from the free board drain 5 provided inside the tower 1. Thus, effective back-washing of the resin can be performed without loss of the resin because the waste water is discharged through the drain and without the needs for water, air, and energy for transferring the resin because the transfer of the resin to the regenerating tower is not required.
