Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a high quality 2-color copy in one step of imagewise exposure, by forming the first photoconductive layer consisting mainly of amorphous Se, or amorphous Se containing Te, and different in sensitivity to a chromatic color light, and a composite the second photoconductive layer of a specifed charge generating layer and a specified charge transfer layer.
CONSTITUTION: The first photoconductive layer 12 containing amorphous Se or amorphous Se with 20 or less weight % Te added and having sensitivity to a nonred light is formed on electroconductive substrate 11. Photoreceptor 1 is formed by providing on layer 12 the second photoconductive layer, sensitive to a red light, of composite layers comprising 0.5W8μ thick charge generating layer 141 consisting mainly of a eutectic complex of a pyrilium type dye and a polycarbonate resin, and 2W49μ thick charge transfer layer 142 consisting mainly of a triphenylmethane derivative and a polycarbonate resin prepared by using a solvent dissolving this eutectic or a mixed solvent containing this solvent. The photoreceptor surface is corona charged to positive potential, uniformly exposed to a red light, negatively corona charged, and then exposed to the light image of original 2. A black and red 2-color image is obtained by developing the surface with toners TB and TA reverse in polarity to the surface charge corresponding to black part BL, white part W, and red part R.
