Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise resistance to liquid leak by forming a film containing a specific substance on the surface facing at least sealing part of a metal layer consisting of copper or a copper alloy in negative current collector. CONSTITUTION:The negative current collector 7 is provided with the metal layer 9 consisting of copper or a copper alloy on the side in contact with the negative electrode 6 of the base plate 8 of stainless steel. The current collector 7, after being subjected to a given pretreatment, is provided with the film 11 containing benzotriazole or its derivative and polyoxyethylene resin amine on the outer surface of its peripheral folded portion 12, or the metal layer 9, and then the film 11 is covered with the liquid packing 13 which is closely bonded with the gasket 5. Thus, the creeping phenomenon of alkali electrolyte can be effectively prevented and the resistance to liquid leak can be raised.
