Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent extraordinay increase in the discharge pressure of coolant gas from a rotary compressor by providing a bypass circuit arranged inside the cylinder wall of said compressor which controlls the quantity of the coolant gas in accordance with the temperature of the freezing cycle and thereby bypassing some of the coolant gas depending of the temperature of the coolant gas discharged.
CONSTITUTION: In the wall of a cylinder 9, there is formed a bypass circuit 19 which extends between a first space, which is not in communication with a discharging outlet 18 and suction inlet 16, and a second space, which is in communication with either one of discharging outlet 18 and suction inlet 16. The bypass circuit 19 is provided with a regulator 20 containing a high pressure chamber 22. When a compressor 1 is driven and the temperature or pressure in the pressure chamber 22 has become higher than the repulsive force of a spring 24, a plunger 21 moves away from the pressure chamber 22 to a position where the repulsive force of the spring 24 and the pressure in the chamber 22 is balanced, resulting in an opening of said bypass circuit 19. The degree of opening of the bypass circuit 19 varies depending on change in the temperature of the coolant gas discharged, control the flow rate of said coolant gas through the bypass circuit. Thus, extraordinary compression, and decrease of the suction pressure of the coolant gas, in the compressor 1 can be prevented by controlling the compression amount of the coolant gas depending on the temperature of the coolant gas discharged.
