Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent undesirable operations of the external circuit driven by the output terminal of an IC during the period it is reset by providing an FF on the front stage of the output terminal of the IC. CONSTITUTION:When side A of mask contact 13 is selected, by logic ''0'' of reset signal 6, output terminal 14 of the IC is set at logic ''1''. When side B is selected, it is set at logic ''0''. When such a mask contact switch is provided for each output circuit of the IC for selection, the logic value of the IC output can be arbitrarily selected at the initializing time and subsequently up to the time of transmission of internal data. This switch is formed by selecting a contact mask and forming a wire-connection by diffusion or eveporation at the time of manufacturing the IC. Buffer 15 may be omitted on occasion. By this structure, even if the logic value of the output terminal of the IC at the initializing time is restricted by the external circuit conditions, it can be easily handled at the time of manufacturing, and thereby the external circuit can be simplified.
