Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain cell having excellent resistance to liquid leakage by improving the properties of synthetic resin used in a sealing gasket by using a synthetic resin to which is added a specific amount of carbon black. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin, e.g., polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide resin, etc., is mixed with fine carbon black powder of a grain size of 0.01-0.08 microns, for example, in a proportion of 0.01-0.3g/cm<3> to form the sealing gasket 6. Then, the gasket 6 is provided between a cylindrical case 1 having a bottom wall and as the positive electrode substance 2 a silver oxide-graphite powder mixture on its inside bottom, serving as a positive electrode terminal, and the metal sealing plate 5 housed with the gel-like amalgamated lead powder 4, serving as a negative electrode terminal. Thus, the properties of the resin of the gasket 6 can be improved and the resistance to liquid leakage can be raised.
