Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve open-circuit voltage by adding a magnesium alloy to iron sulfide which is the positive electrode active material of an organic electrolyte battery. CONSTITUTION:An organic electrolyte battery is formed by housing a positive electrode 2, which includes iron sulfide as its active materials a separator 3, and a negative electrode lithium 4 in a battery case 1 and enclosing and sealing them using a sealing plate 5 in which a gasket 6 is inserted. In this positive electrode 2, a magnesium alloy is added to the positive electrode black mix of iron sulfide. It is recommended that a magnesium-zinc alloy, magnesium-manganese alloy, or magnesium-cadmium alloy is used as this magnesium alloy.
