Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the deposition of oxides and improve the reliability of wrapping characteristics by running the stranded conductors in the molten metal whose upper part has been covered with inert gas thereby applying a simultaneous coating layer on the stranded conductor surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: E.g., copper stranded conductors 16 which travel in the arrow direction are passed subsequently through a guide roller 17, inert gas 13, molten metal 11, drawing die 18 and guide roller 19, whereby a coating layer 2 is formed on the conductor 16 surface. In this case, molten metal of tin, solder, etc. is used for the molten metal 11 and N2, Ar, etc. are used for the inert gas 13, respectively. At the time of this simultaneous coating, the inclusion of air by the stranded conductors may be prevented and the formation of the oxide of the molten metal hampered.
