Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a film of colorful tone on aluminum by the procedure in which an anodized film is formed on the surface of Al by DC electrolysis in a sulfuric acid bath, the Al is subjected to an electrolysis with alternate current having a specific frequency and current density, and than the Al is further subjected to a coloration treatment in a tin salt-containing bath by AC electrolysis.
CONSTITUTION: Al is subjected to a DC electrolytic treatment in a sulfuric acid bath to form an approx. 1W25μ thick anodized film on its surface, then to an electrolytic treatment using alternate current of a frequency of 20W2000Hz and a current density of 6.5×10-4×f≤I≤4.3×10-3×f+0.4 (I is current density (A/dm2) and f is frequency (Hz) to reform the anodized film in the same sulfuric acid bath, and further to an AC electrolytic treatment in a bath containing a mineral acid tin salt or a combination the mineral acid tin salt and a mineral acid Mg or Co salt. Thus, clear yellowish, deep blue, and green containing colorful tone can be given.
