Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect for the rolling roll, to prevent the temperature drop in the material, and to contrive the energy saving, by atomizing the cooling water of the outside pipe of the dual pipe header with the air of the inside pipe, and by blowing the atomized water against the roll surface. CONSTITUTION:The dual pipe construction is formed by inserting the inside pipe 11 of diameter about 1/2 times of that of the outside pipe, into the outside pipe 1 of the nozzle header; and the injection nozzles 2, 22, are attached to respective outside pipe 1 and the inside pipe 11. The pressure of cooling water of the outside pipe 1 is specified to 0.5-1.5kg/cm<2>, and the pressure of the air of the inside pipe 11 is specified to 0.5-2.0kg/cm<2>; the air is injected out of the nozzle 22 to atomize the water, and the atomized water together with the air are blow against the surface of the rolling roll 4 to cool the roll 4. In this method, since the low pressure atomized water is used, the temperature drop is hardly caused in the material, so that the corner crack, etc., of the material can be prevented.
