Abstract
PURPOSE: To attain the optimum spray drying by preventing an inner wall from the deposition of liquid droplets by enabling a position of a spray nozzle movable upwardly and downwardly between a plenum chamber and a drying chamber according to a spray angle and the size of sprayed liquid droplets.
CONSTITUTION: A spray drying apparatus forms a heated air chamber 3 enclosing a plenum chamber 4 at an upper portion of a drying chamber 1 with a powder extracting duct 2 and a spray liquid supply pipe 8 with a spray nozzle 7 is constituted in upwardly and downwardly movable manner through a guide roller apparatus 11, an ascent and descent cylinder apparatus 12. At the starting and the finishing time of spray drying, the spray nozzle 7 is lowered into a drying chamber 1 to prevent an inner wall from the deposition of large liquid droplets injected at a low pressure and during a constant spray condition, the nozzle 7 is positioned in a plenum chamber 4. As a result, when a spray pressure is changed or a liquid to be sprayed is switched to a different component one, it is not necessary to stop an apparatus and to exchange a nozzle as a conventional method.
