Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a low-cost sensor correction device which features a reduced amount of the memory capacity with a high correction accuracy maintained by using the sensitivity memory and the dark current memory to memorize previously the sensitivity of several image sensors and the dark current respectively, the subtractor circuit and the correction memory each.
CONSTITUTION: The output signal obtained by giving A/D conversion 4 to the output signal of image sensor 2 is supplied to sensor correction device 1 via signal line 101. Device 1 consists of dark signal memory 13 and sensitivity memory 14 to memorize previously the dark signal level and the sensitivity of each sensor element, subtractor circuit 14 to give subtraction to the output of memory 13 based on the A/D conversion output signal, and correction memory 16 to be given addressing by th output signals of both memory 15 and circuit 14 and then to deliver the corrected signals. Memory 13 and 15 receive the access via address bus 102 and based on the scanning of the sensor and deliver the output with 4 bits each. The unevenness of the dark current is corrected through circuit 14, and the sensitivity is corrected through memory 15 to be supplied to memory 16. Then the corrected signals are delivered from memory 16 and through output line 103.
